Since We've Moved...

We successfully moved into our new home with the help of many friends and family. We can't thank you enough for all you did to help us! Since we've moved, Ryan has learned some new tricks. He's really growing up fast. Here are some of our favorites. Enjoy!

Grandma Lois was down to help a few days and started to teach Ryan how to climb stairs. Luckily he's not quite ready for climbing yet, but he sure did like to try!

Yes, Ryan can sit up by himself now. He's really enjoyed the new view the past few days.

No, he can't crawl forward yet, but he tries so hard! He ends up crawling backwards and gets stuck somewhere. He likes to get into the crawling position and rock forwards and backwards. Mommy used to do this when she was little, and they used to say she was "stuck in neutral."

Aunt Carolyn brought over a new toy that instantly became a favorite. The first time he played with this, he was entertained for at least a good 20 minutes.

Happy 5 Months Ryan!

Ryan turned 5 months old on Thursday. It's hard to believe 5 months has passed, and I'm sure it's equally hard to believe we're actually back blogging again! Sorry about the months of inactivity. I can assure you we've been active - just not active blogging. I've hit some of Ryan's highlights since our last post. Hope you enjoy!!!

Hanging Out

My buddy, Michael, came to hang out with me one day. We share a love for cold chew toys.

Auntie Brooke hung out with me and gave me a taste of my first frozen lemonade....I wish she would come back. I loved it, but Mom and dad won't let me have anymore.

Go Cyclones!!!

Mommy and Daddy took me to my first Iowa State football game.

I thought we were here to watch football, but we seem to be stuck in the parking lot.

Much better. I really liked watching the Cyclones win!

Good thing I don't require a bed for sleeping.

First Solids

My first bite of solid food - rice cereal.

Hey, I think I like that stuff....can I have some more?

Not sure about veggies, though!

Some Recent Pictures

More Cousins

Ryan finally got to meet his cousins Mark and Parker Rodenberg at Grandma Green's 90th birthday celebration.

My New Friend

I like to play with my friend instead of taking a nap!

I Don't Like My Thumb

I like my third or fourth fingers better.

First Date

Ryan had his first date in early June with little Grace. The dad's had to chaperone, of course.

I Want to See!

Ryan likes to show off how strong he is and how much he likes to see things while on his stomach. He was even trying to get up on his knees. Grandpa Kim thinks he'll be crawling early...considering how soon he rolled over, we better be ready!!!

Five Generations

Kari's Great-Grandma Harriet (Ryan's Great-Great-Grandma) loved watching Ryan during our recent visit. She didn't want anyone else near as she was worried we would wake him up!

The five genereations. Back L-R me, my mom Lois Dummermuth. Front L-R my Grandma Marilyn Larson, Ryan, my Great-Grandma Harriet Olson.

My brother, Matt, was also there with Caleb and Lydia.

Farmer-in-Training

Ryan wore his new John Deere clothes this past weekend in hopes to farm with Daddy and Grandpa Kim. He got to eat dinner with them in the field and see Grandpa Kim's new planter, but he wasn't quite ready to ride with him yet. Maybe he can ride the combine this fall!

3 Weeks Old - Look what I can do!

Mommy put Ryan down for a nap on his tummy on Friday (his 3 week birthday). She heard him moving around, so she looked over to see his feet going the opposite direction than when she put him down - see picture one. She went over and looked in his pack-n-play and discovered he had rolled over!!!

Originally thinking it may have been a fluke, Mommy was surprised to find Ryan had rolled over again the same day during his next nap.

Daddy got to see Ryan roll over twice the next day. The little guy is growing up fast!

We took a video of Ryan rolling over - we'll get it posted as soon as possible.

2 Week Check-Up

I'm getting bigger! At my two week check-up today I weighed 9lbs. 4oz. and was 21.5 in. long. I'm in the 75th percentile for height and 60th percentile for weight.

The Putney Men

Mark was the last Putney to be able to carry on the Putney name - now the pressure's on Ryan! Standing is Mark's dad, John (L), and John's brother, Mark (R).

Ryan's Buddy

This is Ryan's buddy Michael Sage (born one week earlier). They hung out for the first time last Tuesday at Small Group. Michael didn't want to leave....or maybe he had enough?
