Look out Grandpa Kim

I'm practicing with my John Deere, so I can drive yours!

Did I mention he likes to climb?

One of our favorite holiday moments was when we found Ryan in the living room on top of his present. He loves to climb...apparently on anything and everything! One of his favorite things is to crawl over Dad when he's lying on the floor. He also loves to climb stairs and will climb the entire flight of stairs at our house if you let him.

Back from vacation!

So, we've been on a little (ok, a 3 month) vacation from the blogosphere, but we're back! Our goal in 2009 is to update more consistently so everyone can keep up with Ryan. Since we left you, Ryan has changed a great deal. He started crawling the day he turned 6 months. It didn't take long for him to discover how to pull himself up to stand. He is super fast at crawling and is even crusing around furniture. It won't be long before he's walking....any guesses? Ryan loves to try anything we're eating and definitely prefers "people food" to "baby food". His first word was "da da" and most recently he learned how to make the clicking sound with his tongue. His first two teeth are just pushing through, so it's been a little painful for him! He loves to do "so big" and wave at random times. We're working on clapping and pattycake, but he has yet to do it purposfully. Ryan is still the active, mild-tempered, great sleeping, wonderful child he always has been. He is growing up way too fast, and we can't wait to see what's in store for 2009!

Since We've Moved...

We successfully moved into our new home with the help of many friends and family. We can't thank you enough for all you did to help us! Since we've moved, Ryan has learned some new tricks. He's really growing up fast. Here are some of our favorites. Enjoy!

Grandma Lois was down to help a few days and started to teach Ryan how to climb stairs. Luckily he's not quite ready for climbing yet, but he sure did like to try!

Yes, Ryan can sit up by himself now. He's really enjoyed the new view the past few days.

No, he can't crawl forward yet, but he tries so hard! He ends up crawling backwards and gets stuck somewhere. He likes to get into the crawling position and rock forwards and backwards. Mommy used to do this when she was little, and they used to say she was "stuck in neutral."

Aunt Carolyn brought over a new toy that instantly became a favorite. The first time he played with this, he was entertained for at least a good 20 minutes.

Happy 5 Months Ryan!

Ryan turned 5 months old on Thursday. It's hard to believe 5 months has passed, and I'm sure it's equally hard to believe we're actually back blogging again! Sorry about the months of inactivity. I can assure you we've been active - just not active blogging. I've hit some of Ryan's highlights since our last post. Hope you enjoy!!!

Hanging Out

My buddy, Michael, came to hang out with me one day. We share a love for cold chew toys.

Auntie Brooke hung out with me and gave me a taste of my first frozen lemonade....I wish she would come back. I loved it, but Mom and dad won't let me have anymore.

Go Cyclones!!!

Mommy and Daddy took me to my first Iowa State football game.

I thought we were here to watch football, but we seem to be stuck in the parking lot.

Much better. I really liked watching the Cyclones win!

Good thing I don't require a bed for sleeping.

First Solids

My first bite of solid food - rice cereal.

Hey, I think I like that stuff....can I have some more?

Not sure about veggies, though!
